Question by sherlock: Advance Magazine Awards G4S as “Recruiter of the Year 2012″, well deserved?
On the 8th May 2012 Advance Magazine awarded their “Recruiter of the Year 2012″ to G4S !

They put their success down to the quality of their staff and ability to train, and deploy them in short timescales.

Would they get your vote?
Helen S-keep up the good work, that connection is there somewhere!

Best answer:

Answer by Confused Hal
Short answer – No!

what other awards have Advance Magazine awarded? The klu klux klan winning a race relations award? Barclay’s Bank winning an award for fair practises in customer service?

EDIT Helen S – Whilst I dont know who appointed G4S (and it may well have been Labour) the tories have had over 2 years now, they cannot continue to blame Labour. The Home Secretary should have demanded to be kept in the loop of what is happening on a weekly basis. It is not a small number of people they have failed to provide it is at least 25% and likely to be a lot higher. On this occasion the buck stops with the tories.

Best answer:

Answer by PAUL W
I suspect MBR probably just edges MBUK, with What MTB and Singletrack vying for 3rd, thats the MTB stuff anyway. I’d expect Cycling Weekly is the biggest overall, being weekly as opposed to monthly and covering a variety of disciplines.

Question by Big Willy: What’s the point of a “budget cap” in F1?

Gunman : are you sure the cars are the same? That would account for the fact that it’s the most boring race ever staged. But I’m quite sure they’re not : it’s only certain parameters in there construction which are restricted – principally the capacity of their cylinders – 3 litres, I think.

Best answer:

Answer by The Lone Gunman
To level the playing field.
Obviously, with unlimited budget, teams with more money to spend stand a better chance.
By capping the spend, it makes it easier for teams with less funds to compete on the same level.
For example, in Formula Ford, every car is exactly the same, so it is only the skill of the driver that wins the race

Question by Liam.: What is a cheap but good bike for learning to ride on?
Ashamed to admit it haha, but I never learnt to ride as a kid, I was much more interested in computer games and the swimming pool. I am now 18 and still haven’t learnt but would love too. Especially considering I love endurance sports and am missing out on a lot of cross-country bike trips.

I will probably learn on a secluded field somewhere to save myself embarrasment .

Thanks for any answers! Take care!

Best answer:

Answer by Bob A
Get a bike that you can lower the saddle far enough to be able to place you feet on the ground. Start out coasting down a small slope and learn to balance.
